Imagine surviving on a limited income from disability benefits. With this small income, you have to provide for children and have no extra money each month. Now imagine you are sleeping on an air mattress and have no washer or dryer.

This was the situation Brian was in when he first reached out. His disability income covered his monthly bills and no extra. He was requesting a bed. A Clearinghouse Volunteer carefully listened to his story and prayed with him. A Site Visit volunteer met him at his home to determine exactly what he needed. It was then his need for the washer and dryer was discovered. Your generous donations provided a bed for him, along with the washer and dryer. He was also given a small vacuum cleaner.

Six months later, Brian received the devastating news that he had cancer. He was very depressed and reached out again. This time he was able to get personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies from Personal Care Ministry at Faith Presbyterian Church.

The last time Brian called he needed some help with repairs around the house. The Handyman Ministry at North Lake Presbyterian Church was able to meet that need. He shared with a Clearinghouse Volunteer that he was able to cover his monthly bills and had some extra. He was unsure where the extra money was going though. The volunteer suggested that he keep a ledger to track his expenses.

Brian’s needs have been many and varied. You have met them time and again. Due to your generosity, Brian has received guidance and material goods. Volunteers have shown him love and compassion.
