In 2021 we shared a story about Lacey and her family.

Lacey began receiving help from Love INC in 2016 with our various Gap ministries including Furniture and Appliance Ministry, Birthday Box Ministry, and consistently participated in Clothe-A-Kid and Christmas Blessings. However, Lacey wasn’t ready to truly make life change at that point. When presented with our Transformational Education Classes called Journey, she pushed back and was not open to the idea at first. However, one day that changed. She attended Journey for the first time with her family. Then she came back the next week and the next. Now almost two years from the time she committed to Journey, she is still actively participating in our classes in 2023.

Won’t God do it!

But recently the Holy Spirit has been moving even more within Lacey’s family. Lacey has not held a job for many years and has prided herself on being a stay at home mom to help her children as best as she could. But with prices rising, her financial needs continued to grow. At this point she was content with her fixed income and settled into a place of striving.

Now, Lacey is an extremely intelligent woman. She is opinionated, informed, and never afraid to share her true thoughts with anyone in the room. Her determined and positively headstrong demeanor moved her right up to one of the most vocal in our Journey classes, prompting positive debate and open communication. We all could see this overwhelming potential for Lacey to do more with her life, but were praying Lacey would see it for herself.

During a meeting with her mentor, Lacey cautiously divulged that she had been offered a job almost on the spot while she was running errands one day. The excitement from Lacey was bubbling just under the surface. Her mentor could see the questions swirling in her head.

Her mentor prayed with her. She encouraged her to really think hard about what God wants for her, and what kind of example she was setting for her children. The very next week….Lacey ran into Journey with a smile a mile wide. Not only had she accepted the job…she had already begun working and absolutely LOVED it!! Lacey now comes to class (pretty tired sometimes, I mean who can blame her?) but with a new demeanor. She is confident. Sticking to her goals. Even began a weight loss journey which she had talked about for years. And best of all, her oldest son (also a participant of Journey) got his first job just two weeks after Lacey secured hers!

God consistently has His hand over Journey and all of its participants. Lacey and her family were finally open and ready for life change and God set the ball into motion. It is because of your continued support that we at Love INC are able to witness these stories of triumph. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and change doesn’t happen overnight. But the tears that flowed from our Journey team, the pride bursting from the seams toward Lacey and her family, that – that makes it all with it. Thank YOU for being a part of her story.
