Lucas

In February of 2022, Love In the Name of Christ held a Pop ‘N Drop food drive for some very specific food for a set of twin brothers.

When Lucas’s parents both died, he received an unusual inheritance.

His twin younger brothers, both of whom have special needs, ended up in his care. Due to the boys’ specific needs they only eat certain types of baby food. Because this can get extremely expensive, Love INC put out a call for help and held the Pop ‘N Drop. YOU provided exceedingly, abundantly more than they could have imagined.

Since February, things have improved for Lucas and the boys. The boys’ disability income came through, which has been a huge relief. The family can now make ends meet each month. Lucas keeps the boys active and in school. They have been adjusting to their grief and their new family situation.

The Clearinghouse has kept in touch with Lucas, checking in to be sure they were doing well and to see if they needed anything.

Last week, Lucas and the boys participated in the back to school shopping event, Clothe-A-Kid. The family was paired with a volunteer, and both the boys were able to get much needed new clothing to start the school year with.

After they shopped, Lucas called in to the Clearinghouse to say thank you for all you have done for him and the boys. The gratitude and joy in his voice was loud and clear. He enjoyed the Clothe-A-Kid experience very much. The volunteer that shopped with them also enjoyed their time together and helping the boys pick out clothes and stay within their budget.

You met Lucas and his brothers in a crisis and provided relief to them through your generosity. Your generous giving has now also provided new clothing for school. Even though there’s no way to know what the future holds for this family, we know that you will continue to share your resources.
