82 volunteers from 39 different churches answered the call to serve and make a difference in the lives of 227 children of all ages right in our own community. Clothe-A-Kid 2024 was once again an astronomical success! 

Clothe-A-Kid 2024 was once again an astronomical success! We had the privilege of serving 227 children of all ages right in our own community. Our highest number of children served in the 13 years since the start of this event! From Fruitland Park to Belleview, Wildwood to Ocklawaha, and all in between; we were able to help equip families in need with brand new clothing to start the school year off on the right foot.

This year, 82 volunteers from 39 different churches answered the call to serve and make a difference in the lives of these families. There were deals to be found, clothes to try on, and most importantly… true connections that blossomed. You see, it’s never been just about the clothes. It’s never been about finding the coolest shoes or the name brand tee shirts…although that is one piece of the puzzle. The difference has always been in relationships.

Our volunteers took time out of their days to hear a little portion of the lives of these families. They learned that little Suzy’s favorite subject in school is art class. Or that Joey dreams of being a collegiate athlete. Or Josh dreaming of becoming an engineer. They learned that mom and dad struggle from time to time making ends meet. Or that it’s just mom at home, and she’s completely overwhelmed at times. They heard them, and loved them.

They took the time to hear them. To truly see them. And to show them the love of Christ through their interactions. Some of our families didn’t know who God is; but during Clothe-A-Kid, they were able to experience genuine love and kindness through the example of our volunteers.

So thank you. Thank you for financially supporting this event and Love In The Name of Christ. Thank you to the volunteers who shopped with families, cut tags, and bagged clothing. Thank you to those who prayed for this event and for those who continue to pray for these families. YOU are Love In the Name of Christ. You prove time and time again to be the hands and feet of Christ, and we could not fulfill this mission without you.
