Church was just the ticket she needed.

Gracie was living in her car, and becoming more and more depressed as the days wore on. She was not new to Love INC. Gracie has been a client for many years. Often, volunteers would pray with her and encourage her the best that they could, but her despair continued to deepen and transformation didn’t seem to be taking place.

Over the last year or so, circumstances in Gracie’s life took a turn for the worse. Already living with a strained budget made up of income from disability and a cleaning job, several unexpected expenses came up. Gracie could not cover them, and ended up evicted from her home.

Thus living in her car and struggling to cope with her situation. A situation that felt hopeless to Gracie and tough for Love INC. Affordable housing is at a minimum and just to move into a new place takes hundreds of dollars, good credit, and a reputable track record.

As God often does, He moved and provided for Gracie. A Partner Church called the Clearinghouse. They had an efficiency apartment available at their ministry. The Clearinghouse put Gracie in touch with the Partner Church. Now, Gracie is living in her own apartment. Her mental and emotional health has improved.

Just as things started to settle down and Gracie was getting into a routine, distressing news came. Her granddaughter was in a car accident and was in an Intensive Care Unit in near Atlanta. Gracie asked for help going to see her, because she was in critical condition. Love INC does not normally cover travel expenses, but in this case an exception was made.

Gracie was provided with a bus ticket so she could go see her granddaughter and support her son. A bus ticket because sometimes the way to moving towards transformation is investing in relationships that are making baby steps in progress. A bus ticket to help a mother support her son and his daughter in tragedy. To bring hope and restoration to their relationship.
