On September 3rd, 2020 you were introduced to Elinor.

You can find her original Love Story below. To recap, she was in the process of getting her house fixed by Rebuild Florida. Community and church partnership with Love In the Name of Christ enabled that to happen by getting her property taxes up to date. Elinor was met with dignity and respect and a long term relationship has developed. This has been possible through getting to know her beyond the crisis she was having when she reached out at first.

Today, almost two years later, Elinor is now unpacking boxes in her house. She is so relieved to be back in her house after many delays. She even had to live in hotels for a bit while the work was being done.

Elinor is enrolled in Journey INC and is working through her first class, Faith and Finances. She’s learning to budget her money better so she doesn’t get behind on her taxes any more. She was just paired with a mentor who will work with her weekly on her budget.

It has been an honor to get to know Elinor’s strengths and struggles, and her hopes and dreams. It is a great privilege to walk with her in her journey from striving to thriving, and this is only made possible by the investment people make in Love INC.
