James’s wife, Lilly, recently had a stroke.

She needed a hospital bed to borrow as she recovered at home. James called Love INC to request this item before she was released from the hospital. The Clearinghouse Volunteer that answered the phone when he called listened to James with compassion, asking questions to determine if there were any other needs that Love INC could help with. During the conversation, the volunteer discovered that Lilly also needed a bedside commode and a walker.

The Medical Ministry at First Baptist Church of Summerfield and the Delivery Team worked together to get the items delivered to James and Lilly at their home. They used them until Lilly was recovered. Then they called Love INC to return the items. The Delivery Team went back to their home and picked up the bed and other items. Now they can be used by someone else when they have a need.

The Medical Ministry is a unique outreach of Love INC. No verification is required and anyone can borrow medical items as needed. There are a wide variety of medical items that are available. These items can usually be picked up at the Love INC Donations Center. On the occasions that delivery is required, it is typically very quick.

Thanks to generous donations, the Medical Ministry is able to provide much needed medical items for people like James and Lilly.
