To say Donald has been struggling the last couple of years would be an understatement.

He lost his mom and was also diagnosed with cancer. Even though his brother and two nephews live with him, his brother is unemployed. Donald is unable to afford the mortgage he inherited from his mother. They are all doing their best to keep it all together.

Donald reached out to Love INC to request help because his well ran dry. Although this isn’t an issue Love INC typically helps with, he did have a few other things going on that we could help with.

​​After the Clearinghouse Volunteers listened to his story, and the intake process was complete, they sent out a job packet to help the brother find employment. Then Site Visit Volunteers met Donald at his home to determine exactly how to best help. They observed the beds the family was sleeping on were old and stained, and they also had a bad odor.

The Furniture and Appliance Ministry delivered new beds allowing them to have clean mattresses to sleep on. They also provided new bedding for each one. Once the beds were delivered, a Clearinghouse Volunteer followed up to ensure they had been able to get the well fixed. It had been, and so there were no more needs for Love INC to fulfill.

Sometimes a client calls in requesting something that isn’t possible to do for them. When that happens, as it did with Donald, they are welcomed, and valued. Then the Volunteer they speak with tries to see where they can receive Love In the Name of Christ.
